Here we are in New London. This is where I come when I go to the Hamptons. The ferry terminal is across the street from the train station. In fact, a ferry is leaving now. It’s the really small one, where the cars have to back on. Lots of business class passengers getting on here. There are still no takers for the seat next to me. I’m glad. More writing for me! We’re off to the next station! I started the discography yesterday at work, and I’m up to HAND. Welcome to Wherever You Are. Quite apropos, I think.

I love traveling by rail. I wish we (as a society) still did this more often. I enjoy the speed and convenience of flying (although, having a pathological fear of falling, flying isn’t as fun for me as it is for many people). The gentle sway of the cars as the glide across the tracks is very relaxing. The clackety-clack of the tracks is hypnotic. Hmmm, maybe I’ll take a nap.
